🌧️ Reflection on Leadership and Responsibility

This week has been emotionally intense. On the 29th, we celebrated my eldest son’s 18th birthday 🎂 (OMG time flies!).And on that very same day, we remembered one of the darkest moments in my homeland, Valencia — the DANA storm that caused devastation and took more than 200 lives.

Two completely opposite emotions, bound to the same date.
That day made me reflect — both as a parent and as a professional — on how crisis management and business management share the same foundations. In both cases, success or failure rests on five key pillars: planning, leadership, decision-making, tactical knowledge, and responsibility.
And that day, all of them failed.
Because yes, unexpected events will always happen. But often, a crisis doesn’t arise from what’s unforeseen — it comes from a lack of preparation and planning.
True leadership is tested when the pressure is high, when every decision matters, and when people rely on you to act with clarity and purpose.
💭 In life and in business, we can’t always stop the storm — but we can prepare so it doesn’t take us down with it.
